Temporary Type Tattoos

67/365
Here’s a great too hot outside/rainy day activity if you are wanting to break outside your mold and comfort zone. Take your pens, markers, or body paint and go to town on your hand, arm, leg or face. I did it above for my Flickr 365 project a couple years back and it was a really relaxing and fun experience!

You don’t have to be a skilled painter or artist. Just have fun with it and don’t take yourself too seriously!

Here’s some great examples of type play on an arm by Emma Sarah Deans. Love all the experimentation and creativity she unleashed. She wasn’t afraid to just go for it!

There’s also opportunity to use your body as a way to share a message or your favorite quote art. Flickr
user Shonatennille did just that and snapped a pretty photo in the grass.

Flickr user Pink Pixel Photography wrote what she wished for the new year all over herself.  That’s one way to literally make a statement and get your intentions out there for and hold yourself accountable.

So as you can see, it can be about nothing and it can be about everything!  And the cool thing is, if you used body paint or a marker, it easily comes off and you can write another affirmation, quote, or message.  The whole point of this exercise is just to play and use your body as a canvas. And who knows, you might get some awesome photos out of the deal that your friends will like on Facebook!

I love it!! I draw on myself all the time. I used "human" canvases for art in college regularly and get so happy seeing this. Have you ever seen the film "The Pillowbook"? Ewan McGregor and the art of body calligraphy...
