What the Font: the answer to your font finding dilemmas

There have been many times in my design career where I’ve desperately needed to know which font was used for a headline or logo. I would have to search and search through my many fonts and hope I would stumble upon it. Seriously, it could take hours people! A designers worst nightmare!!! Well, not really, but close.

Well, I’m here to tell you that this problem has gotten a LOT easier thanks to the web site What The Font by My Fonts!  You simply upload a screenshot or jpg of your image, correctly identify the letters of that font, then are hopefully reunited (and it feels so good) to that font you were looking for!

Now, this isn’t a total font wonder drug, but it is pretty great.  I’d say about 7 out of 10 times I am given the correct name of my font by the font generator.  If you turn up unsuccessful you can always go to the font nerds in the What the Font Forum and they’ll help you out with your dilemma.

Such a cool resource to have on hand!
