Add a pop of neon to your décor with this awesome pennant lantern from Studio DIY. I love the bright colors mixed with the brown paper bag. It’s a great way to tone down the neon look, but still get a fun pop of color, perfect for a birthday party or impromptu celebration!

Spotted these fun paper globes on the Plum Pudding blog based on ones she found on Martha Stewart. I like that she took the paper ornament and made it grander in scale. The use of the colorful cereal boxes make them so mod and graphic!

Now that I’m engaged, I’ve started to look at wedding DIY ideas and typographic-centric crafts are all the rage for the big day!  Over on the Ruffled Blog, I found these fun and cheerful examples of reception ideas incorporating type at a Not Wedding Event in Atlanta. I love the tone on tone color usage. These ideas look relatively easy to execute (spray paint for the win!).

I love paper banners too!  I think these would be relatively easy to execute as well.  How fun is the use of paper for a big statement too?

The use of old vintage books on the tables also is a nice typographic touch!

This number cake from Martha Stewart is right up my alley. I love the fun patterns created with the candy and the color palette.  Who new eating numbers could be so sophisticated? Kinda gives “You are what you eat” a whole new meaning, right?

Our friend Chris at Man Made DIY made this super hip and cool personalized gift wrap that’s an absolute cinch to make! I love how streamlined and simple it is and the impact it makes on the butcher paper! Great DIY Chris!

Event designer David Stark brought the Metropolitan Opera’s 125th Anniversary Gala to life with the help of an inventive concept using vintage opera graphics.  What an eye-popping display that looks like a million bucks!  The graphics take center stage  wrapped around lampshades and luminous glass jars.  Seems like something  easy and economical to execute for a dinner party or wedding reception. Absolutely genius David!
